Marrow is clean

Kaedyn has 0 detectable Leukemia cells in his marrow. Today we celebrate good news!
Now so you can understand exactly what this means. Just because there are 0 doesn’t mean there aren’t any there. He had 0 the first time but one or maybe a few hid somewhere in his body until they were reactivated. It would be wonderful to think that it would be gone for good but it just won’t work that way. The one or a few (undetectable cells) are resistant to chemo alone and they need something stronger to kill them. His marrow can not kill off these bad and dying cells like a normal person. So again in the future those few cells would take over his marrow. The Bone Marrow Transplant will hopefully be what we need to ensure his body never produces bad cells again. And with this Kaedyn has according to statistics a 40-60% chance of never producing a bad cell again!
I hope this explains why a transplant is still necessary. But no matter what are happy with the news!

Shelsie, This is really good news! We think about this sweet boy (and you and your family) every single day. He is always included in our prayers. Just wish there was more that we could do!

Yes, this is definitely good news. But yes, I understand, transplant essential – Praying and believing… the restoration process is beginning with each step of the way, right on to the transplant, and with no complications, and own to healthy cells forever.
Love and prayers to you, strength, and all needs supplied, love you all, ((soft hugs)) Martha Smith

Thanks for the update. Praying, yes, absolutely – speaking life into Kaedyn’s body, and all ready for the transplant.. will be going on time. And no complications, we are praying… peace to each of you. Love, Martha Smith
